Japanese Size Binder – FAQs

Fit and compatibility

The Vault X Exo-Tec® Japanese Size Zip Binder is designed to hold Japanese-size trading cards measuring 59 × 86mm (2.3" × 3.4"), such as Yu-Gi-Oh! and Cardfight!! Vanguard, as well as standard K-pop photocards. It has 66 x 94mm side-loading pockets and our signature padded, water-resistant Exo-Tec® cover. It's available in 4-pocket, 9-pocket and 12-pocket.

What's the difference between Japanese-size and standard-size cards? Japanese-size cards are smaller than standard trading cards:

• Japanese size: 59 x 86mm (2.3" x 3.4"), such as Yu-Gi-Oh! and Cardfight!! Vanguard, in all languages

• Standard size: 63.5 x 88.9mm (2.5" x 3.5"), such as Pokémon (in all languages, including Japanese), Magic: The Gathering, One Piece and sports cards

Will my Japanese Pokémon cards fit? No. Japanese Pokémon cards are standard size, the same as English Pokémon cards. "Japanese size" refers to the size of the card, not the language it's printed in. For Pokémon cards in any language, please choose one of our standard binders.

Will it fit Pokémon, Magic: The Gathering, One Piece or sports cards? No. These are standard-size cards and are too big for the pockets. Forcing larger cards into the pockets may damage your cards and the binder.

Which cards does the binder fit? The binder fits Yu-Gi-Oh!, Cardfight!! Vanguard and other cards measuring up to 59 x 86mm (2.3" x 3.4"). If you're not sure, we recommend measuring your cards before ordering.

Will my K-pop photocards fit? Most standard photocards will fit. However, photocards aren't a standard size and can vary between groups, eras and albums. Larger cards, such as tour cards or taller photocards, won't fit, so we recommend measuring yours before ordering.

Is there a thickness limit? Yes. The binder is suitable for cards up to 35pt thick. Cards larger than 59 x 86mm or thicker than 35pt are not suitable.

Sleeves and setup

Can I use sleeves? Yes. The pockets fit Japanese-size sleeves (62 x 89mm), including our Vault X Japanese Exact Fit Sleeves.

Can I double-sleeve my cards? Yes. Use our Japanese Exact Fit Sleeves as the inner sleeve, then add your usual outer sleeve. The pockets take outer sleeves up to 65.5 x 92mm.

Capacity and design

How many cards does the binder hold?

• 4-pocket: 20 double-sided pages, holds up to 160 cards

• 9-pocket: 20 double-sided pages, holds up to 360 cards

• 12-pocket: 20 double-sided pages, holds up to 480 cards

Can I overfill the binder? We don't recommend going over the stated capacity. Overfilling puts extra pressure on the pockets, seams and zip, and may stop the binder from closing properly.

What is the binder made from? The cover is our padded, water-resistant Exo-Tec® material with internal stitching for lasting durability. The pages are made from archival-safe, acid-free, PVC-free materials.

Availability and guarantee

When is the binder available? The Japanese Size Binder and Japanese Exact Fit Sleeves launch on 27th October at 4pm GMT (9am PDT / 12pm EDT / 5pm CET).

Is this a limited edition? No. We're adding the Japanese Size Binder to our range.

What colours are available? The binder is available in black, blue, pink, purple, red, teal and yellow.

Is there a guarantee? Yes. The binder comes with a 12-month guarantee from the date of purchase.
